The Ford GT40. A symbol of American design prowess, an icon of twentieth century motoring history and the embodiment of the glamour of Le Mans and the international racing circuit in the late 1960's.
Four decades have passed since the Ford GT40 was conceived but it still captures the fervent imagination of its admirers and has thousands of enthusiastic fans worldwide.
Today, CAV manufactures the CAV GT40 in homage to the original.
The  CAV GT40 is identical to the Le Mans winner in almost every way. It has the same character, same élan, same attitude. The only difference is that the intervening 40 years have seen radical advances in technology, engineering and materials - and these have been used by CAV to improve the vehicle's suspension, braking and interior finishes.

In body, the CAV GT40 is faithful to the original Ford GT40 design as far as possible. But the truth is that the Le Mans cars were constructed from materials only intended to last a functional racing season or two. In addition, comfort in a racing car was not a high priority - it was about speed, not pleasure.
So, we admit, we've deviated from Ford's original design - but only to make the car more comfortable, more technically current and more safe on the road.
In mind, however, the CAV GT40 is as faithful to its namesake down to the very last curve. You just have to see one to understand.

The CAV GT40 is not another mid-engineered thruster with a unique shape. Put your foot flat and you'll see the other side of 100 miles per hour with little effort. You'll do the first 60 of those in just over 4 seconds if you try.
Remarkably - and surprisingly -this was faster than a 1960s Formula 1 car in a straight line. Since then, however, overall performance has improved, as we've modernized the GT's suspension and braking system, bringing them in line with 21st century technology.
Listen to the engine and you'll be conversing with the distinctive voices of other famous marques: Ford's muscular V8 power plant; or Audi, ZF or other specialist manufacturers' transmission (depending on your output requirements). In addition, the CAV GT40 is shod with tires that have earned respect on racing circuits around the world.
